I will not contest elections if Shah withdraws the case against slum dwellers: Kejriwal

New Delhi, January 12

AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday claimed that if the BJP comes to power in the upcoming assembly elections, it will eradicate all the slums in Delhi. Addressing a press conference in Shakur Basti, the former chief minister alleged that the BJP was prioritizing land grab over the welfare of slum dwellers. Kejriwal said quoting the BJP, “Before the elections they want your votes and then your land.” Kejriwal claimed, “If Amit Shah withdraws all the cases filed against slum dwellers or displaced people.” If they take it, they will not contest the elections. If the BJP fails, I will contest the elections and stand as a shield for the slum dwellers. Kejriwal said, “In the last ten years, they have built only 4700 flats for the slum dwellers. There are 4 lakh slums in Delhi. In this sense, it will take them 1000 years to provide houses to all the slum dwellers in the city. -News-Patiala
