Ahmedabad, January 6
A two-month-old baby admitted to a private hospital in Ahmedabad in Gujarat has been confirmed to be suffering from metanneumovirus (HMPV). An official gave this information today.
The official said that the child of a family living in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur was admitted to the hospital in Chandkhera on December 24 due to symptoms of respiratory infection. Bhavini Solanki, in-charge medical officer of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, said that after examination, he was found to be suffering from HMPV.
“The patient was confirmed to be suffering from HMPP infection on December 26, but we got the information today as the private hospital informed us about it late,” Solanki said.
The official said that the patient has been kept in isolation. Solanki said that earlier the child was kept on ventilator and now his condition is stable. -News-Patiala
