Washington, January 4
Six Indian-American leaders have been sworn in as members of the US House of Representatives. This is the first time that six Indian Americans have been sworn in as members of the House of Representatives at the same time. Among them Dr. Amy Bera, Suhas Subramaniam, Sri Thanedar, Roy Khanna, Raja Krishnamurthy and Pramila Jayapal are among the cast.
When I was first sworn in twelve years ago, I was the sole Indian American Member of Congress and only the third in U.S. history.
Now, our coalition is six strong!
I am excited to welcome even more Indian Americans to the halls of Congress in the years to come! pic.twitter.com/CpLVST2g7H
