Puneet Khurana Suicide Case: The cafe owner of Delhi has accused his wife and in-laws of ‘harrassment’ in a video recorded before committing suicide. The cafe owner has also accused them of not complying with the court orders. Puneet Khurana hanged himself with a fan at his house in Madan Town area of North-West Delhi on Tuesday. The police said in a statement that Puneet’s family members have accused his wife and in-laws of harassing Puneet. Police sources said that Puneet had also recorded a 54-minute video in his mobile phone before hanging himself.
In the short clip of this video which has gone viral on social media, Puneet is seen saying that he was under stress and he also explained the reasons for it. This clip came out on Thursday, which the police will now make part of the investigation. Puneet said, “I am recording my last statement. I am about to commit suicide, because my in-laws and my wife are harassing me, we have already applied for divorce with mutual consent and have also signed in the court with some conditions.
“We promised to at least respect the court and fulfill those conditions within a period of 180 days,” Punis said. 90 days have already passed. Another 90 days are about to pass. My in-laws and wife are pressurizing me with new conditions, which are beyond my control. They have asked for another 10 lakh rupees and I am unable to give it. I cannot ask my parents because they have already suffered a lot because of me.” Police sources said that the body has been handed over to the family after the post-mortem. According to sources, the police may call Puneet’s wife and father for questioning.
On the other hand, Puneet’s wife and in-laws have not given any immediate reaction. “Puneet’s father Triloknath has produced his (Puneet’s) mobile phone and other related items…which have been seized by the police,” said North West Delhi DCP Bhisham Singh. Investigation is being done by the team led by SP Rohit Gupta. The phone has been sent for forensic examination. -News-Patiala
