Gurdaspur Grenade attack: Three suspected terrorists involved in the grenade attack in Gurdaspur in Punjab were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police in Pilibhit on Monday morning. Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav termed it as a major success of the police against the Pakistan-backed Khalistan Zindabad Force module.

The slain accused have been identified as Gurwinder Singh (25), Varinder Singh alias Ravi (23) and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), all of whom are residents of Gurdaspur in Punjab. The competition took place in Puranpur area of ​​district Pilibhit of Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Police Additional Director General (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said that all three were involved in the grenade attack on a police post in Gurdaspur. “The three sustained serious injuries in the encounter and were rushed to CHC Puranpur for treatment, where the three militants later succumbed to their injuries,” he said. , two Glock pistols and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered.

In a post on social media platform X, the Punjab police chief said, “In a major breakthrough against the #Pakistan-sponsored Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terrorist module, a police party was killed during a joint operation by UP Police and Punjab Police. There was an encounter with the three module members who fired.” He said that this terrorist module was involved in grenade attacks on police posts in the border areas of Punjab.

In a video attached to his post, he said, “The encounter took place between the joint police teams of Pilibhit and Punjab in the jurisdiction of Puranpur police station area, Pilibhit and three module members were involved in a grenade attack on a police post in #Gurdaspur.” The DGP said that the investigation is on to uncover the entire terrorist module. -News-Patiala
