Smartphone Repair Mode: Nowadays every type of sensitive data is stored in the phone. If it falls into someone’s hands, it can cause huge loss. To protect this, the user also locks the phone with password or Face ID etc., but when the phone goes to the service center for repair, the people who repair it there can access the data. To protect user data from service persons, nowadays companies have started providing different modes in their phones. It is necessary to activate it before giving the phone to the service center.
What is the danger in service center?
When you give the phone to the service center, you are asked for its password. Many times you are also asked to remove protection like password or FaceID. Generally the service centers of companies are reliable, but still there is a fear of accessing the data. Without protection, anyone can see your phone’s messages, emails, contacts and gallery etc.
What to do to avoid this?
To keep user data safe, companies have started providing new safety modes. It comes with the name of Maintenance mode, Repair mode or Accessibility mode etc. in different phones. After activating this mode, technicians will only be able to test the hardware components of the phone and will not have access to users’ apps and files etc. The advantage of this is that your phone will also be fixed and the data will also be protected.
How to enable this mode?
Samsung- If you have a modern Samsung smartphone, then go to Settings, tap on Device Care and turn on Maintenance Mode.
