India World Record: In the match against Zimbabwe, six Indian batsmen came out to bat. All of them scored more than 20 runs while batting at a strike rate above 150. This is the first time in T20 World Cup history that six batsmen from a team have scored more than 20 runs with a strike rate of 150+.

India kept their semi-final hopes alive by defeating Zimbabwe in their second Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup. In the match played in Chepauk, all the Indian batsmen played a blistering innings, helping the team post the second highest total in the history of the tournament. India scored 256 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. During the first innings, Team India also created a unique record, never seen before in the T20 World Cup.

In fact, six batsmen of the team came to bat in this match. All of them scored more than 20 runs, and more importantly, their strike rates were above 150. This is the first time in the history of this tournament that six batsmen of a team scored more than 20 runs and had a strike rate above 150. This has never been seen before in the T20 World Cup tournament which started in 2007.

After losing the toss, Sanju Samson, opening with Abhishek Sharma, gave India a fast start. He hit a six in the very first over. Samson was dismissed for 24 off 15 balls, with a strike rate of 160. Then Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan shared a partnership of 72 runs for the second wicket. Ishan got out after scoring 38 runs at a strike rate of 158.33. Abhishek hit four fours and as many sixes in his 50-run innings, which came at a strike rate of 183.33. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav also put in an explosive batting display, scoring 33 off 13 balls. His strike rate was 253, which included three fours and two sixes.

Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma tore through the bowlers in the final overs, taking India past 250. Hardik scored an unbeaten 50 off 23 balls with two fours and four sixes. His strike rate was 217. Meanwhile, Tilak scored an unbeaten 44 off 16 balls, which included three fours and four sixes.

India eyes on reaching the semi-finals

With a 72-run win over Zimbabwe, Team India booked their place in the semi-finals. India now have two points. If India beat the West Indies in their final Super 8 match, the hosts will secure a place in the top four. England and South Africa have already made it to the top four.
