As per the IPL’s maximum fee rule, a foreign player’s salary cannot exceed ₹18 crore (₹18 crore), as teams have reported the unavailability of foreign stars for the entire season. If the bid exceeds the proposed amount, the proceeds will be used for the welfare of the players. The auction fee for any foreign player in the mini-auction will be lower than the highest retention price (₹18 crore) and the highest auction price in the mega-auction. If the highest auction price in the mega-auction is ₹20 crore (₹20 crore), the cap will be ₹18 crore (₹16 crore). If the highest auction price in the mega-auction is ₹16 crore (₹16 crore), the cap will be ₹16 crore, an IPL statement said.
Meanwhile, talking about Green and his potential, he once earned a ₹17.5 crore contract with Mumbai Indians. That season, he scored a century and two fifties for the team, and also took 6 wickets. In total, Green has scored 716 runs and taken 16 wickets in 29 IPL matches.
