When will the recruitment for 25847 constable posts of Bihar Police? Know what new update came

After the completion of the selection process in Bihar, the recruitment for 25,847 posts in police and other departments is all set to proceed rapidly. Most of the posts are for Bihar Police Constables, for which the written exam has been completed and now the physical test is going on. CSBC and BPSSC have clarified that the process will start in December 2025 for all pending recruitments.

Bihar Police Constable Recruitment – 19,838 Posts
Applications for this recruitment were accepted in March 2025, and more than 1.6 million candidates submitted their forms. As many as 1.33 million candidates appeared in the July-August written exam. The exam results have been released, and around 99,690 candidates have been shortlisted for PET/PST. Physical test date, time and venue will be available soon at csbc.bih.nic.in. Candidates are advised to start practicing running, high jump and shot put now, as passing the physical test is mandatory. Document verification will also be completed along with the physical test.

Jail Warder, Prohibition Officer, and Constable – 4,128 Posts
The forms for these posts were filled from October 6 to November 5, 2025. An investigation is currently underway. This will be followed by a written test. Five times the number of candidates securing minimum 30% marks in written test will be called for physical test. For X Serviceman and Home Guard Quota, eligibility will be determined on the basis of written test only.

Bihar SI Recruitment – 1,799 Posts
There is also good news for those aiming to become an SI. The application process was completed in October, and BPSSC will soon release the dates for prelims and mains. After this a physical test will be conducted. The board has clearly said that recruitment will not be stopped.

Recruitment in other departments

• Enforcement Sub Inspector Exam in Transport Department will be held on 14th December 2025.

• Assistant Jail Superintendent Exam for Home Department (Prisons) will be held on December 7.

• Interviews for Range Forest Officers in Forest Department are going on from November 19 to November 21.
