Instagram New Feature: Diwali celebrations are in full swing across the world and on this occasion Instagram has presented a special gift for its Indian users. The company has launched new Diwali-themed visual effects with the help of Meta AI that users can use on their Instagram Stories and Edits apps. These limited-edition effects are inspired by the lights and colors of Diwali to add a magical festive touch to your Stories and videos.
New Diwali-themed AI effects
This time Instagram has introduced three amazing effects which users can add to their photos and videos. Effects like Fireworks, Diyas and Rangoli will be available for stories, while for videos, options like Lanterns, Marigold and Rangoli will be available. All these effects can be applied through the Restyle feature which is now present in both Instagram and Edits app.
How to use these Diwali effects
If you also want to give Diwali vibe to your Instagram Story or video, then the method is very easy.
First, open Instagram and go to the Stories section from the ‘+’ icon on your profile photo or swipe the screen left. After this select a photo or video from your gallery which you want to post. Now tap on Restyle (brush icon) from the toolbar above. There you will see the Diwali Effects section. Choose the effect of your choice like Fireworks, Diyas or Rangoli.
Meta AI will instantly apply that visual effect to your photo or video. If you like the result, press Done and tap on Your Story to post it.
How to apply Diwali video effects on Edits app
If you are fond of video editing then Meta’s Edits app is the best platform for you. The same Restyle feature is present in it also. Simply open the app, start a new project from the + icon and select a video from gallery or camera. Now go to Restyle from the toolbar below and tap on the Diwali header. From here choose one effect among Lanterns, Marigold or Rangoli.
AI will apply these effects to your video after which you can adjust settings like resolution, frame rate and color tone. Finally export the video and share it on social media.
Available for a limited time
According to Instagram, these Diwali-themed AI effects will be available only till October 29, 2025. Apart from India, this feature has also been released for users of Australia, Canada, Singapore and America.
