The 9th calendar release event was organized here by Bhagta Bhai Press Club affiliated to Punjab and Chandigarh Journalists Union. Arjuna awardee Avneet Kaur Sidhu AIG, CID Zone Bathinda and National Secretary General of Indian Journalists Union Balwinder Singh Jammu were the chief guests. Union state president Balveer Singh Jandu, Jai Singh Chhibbar and Malwa zone in-charge Santokh Gill were special guests. Avneet Kaur Sidhu praised the initiatives of Press Club Bhakta and said that media has an important role in the society. Balwinder Singh Jammu and Balveer Singh Jandu mentioned the difficulties faced by journalists and said that there is a need to make strict laws to prevent attacks on journalists across the country. Chairman Praveen Garg shed light on the activities of the Press Club. Avneet Kaur Sidhu was honored with the ‘Pride of Daughters’ Award by the Press Club. Balwinder Jammu, Balveer Jandu, Jai Singh Chhibbar and Santokh Gill were also honored on this occasion. On this occasion, Tota Singh Dina and Lachhman Singh Maluka gave their views. District President Parvinder Jora and Sukhpal Singh Soni thanked everyone. Journalist community and prominent personalities of the area were present on this occasion.
