At least four persons, including a TV journalist and a security personnel, were injured in firing by suspected militants in Sansabi and Thamnapokpi villages of Imphal East district on Saturday. A police official said the militants opened fire indiscriminately on Sansabi and Thamanapokpi villages from a hilltop, injuring a local TV journalist, a security guard and two civilians.
According to information, TV journalist L. Kabichander has a bullet on his left thigh. Additional security forces under the leadership of senior police officers have launched a search operation to nab the terrorists. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has strongly condemned this incident. He said that he strongly condemns the indiscriminate firing by Kuki terrorists. This cowardly attack is an attack on the innocent, on peace and harmony. IANS
