Children’s holidays extended due to extreme cold

School holidays have been extended in seven districts of Rajasthan due to extreme cold. In Sikar, school holidays for children up to class 5 have been extended till January 17. For children from 6th to 12th standard, school timings have been changed from 11 am to 4 pm. In Bharatpur, holidays have been declared on January 12 and 13 for children up to class 5. In Digg, a holiday has been declared on January 12 for students from Class I to VIII. In Hanumangarh, January 12 has been declared as a holiday for children from nursery to class VIII.

In Jalore, a holiday has been declared from January 12 to 14 for students from pre-primary to class V. In Nagaur, a holiday has been declared for children up to class 5 on January 12 and 13 due to the cold wave. In Jaisalmer, children of classes I to VIII will also have holidays till January 14.

Cold wave gripped most of the cities of the state

According to the Meteorological Department’s daily data report, the cold wave gripped most of the cities in the state. Apart from this, the weather remained dry across the state. In terms of temperature, the highest maximum temperature in the state was 24.0 degrees Celsius in Pratapgarh and the lowest minimum temperature was -2.0 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur, Sikar. According to observations, the average humidity in the state ranged from 40 to 70 percent.
