2025 is over, but various data related to 2025 are still a topic of discussion. The data also includes data from where the most babies are born to where the least babies are born in the world. In fact, in the year 2025, the trend of the birth of children worldwide has been limited to a few selected countries. A chart prepared based on data from the United Nations’ World Population Prospects 2024 shows which countries are having the most babies in the world and which regions are experiencing a steady decline in birth rates.
According to the chart prepared on the basis of data from World Population Prospects, the largest number of children will be born in Asia in 2025. The main reason for this is the large population and young population here. Let us tell you that India is at the top of this list. In 2025, about 2.3 crore children are estimated to be born in India, that is, every sixth child born in the world is born in India.
China is second only to India in terms of fertility, with around 8.7 million babies expected to be born in 2025. Although China’s birth rate has been steadily declining for many years, it is among the top countries due to its large population. Apart from this, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia are also among the countries in Asia where a large number of children are being born.
Africa is currently becoming the world’s fastest growing birth region. The overall population here is young and the birth rate remains high. Nigeria is third on the list, with an estimated 7.6 million births in 2025. This number is more than the total number of births in the whole of Europe. African countries like Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Egypt are also included in the top list.
It is also clear in the chart that the birth rate has decreased significantly in many countries of Europe and East Asia. In countries like Germany, Britain, France and Italy, the annual population is estimated to be less than 7.5 lakh. Japan, once one of the world’s major birth centers, is now projected to have fewer than 7.5 million births in 2025.
