BCCI made a big announcement for the Indian Women’s World Cup winning team


The BCCI has announced a prize of Rs 51 crore to the Indian women’s cricket team for their maiden World Cup victory. The Indian team captained by Harmanpreet Kaur Dr. Navi Mumbai. D.Y. Created history by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final at the Patil Stadium.

Earlier, in the 2005 and 2017 World Cups, India reached the final but failed to win the title. But 2025 changed everything. The night of November 2, 2025, will be very memorable for Indian cricket. The prize money given by the BCCI to the Indian women’s team is more than the prize money received from the ICC.

In fact, the prize money of Rs 51 crore being given by BCCI is more than the prize money received from ICC. The ICC will pay USD 4.48 million to the winning team, which is approximately Rs 39.78 crore.

Speaking to news agency ANIS, BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia said that the decision to award Rs 51 crore to the women’s team was taken to recognize the team’s impressive victory.

Saikia further said that he should also thank ICC Chairman Jai Shah. Just a month before the tournament, they increased the prize money for the Women’s World Cup by almost 300%.

He further said that BCCI is very happy with the way they won the title by defeating South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium today. Without touching the ICC prize money, the BCCI is providing a prize money of Rs 51 crore at its own expense. This amount will be distributed among the players, selectors and support staff led by Amol Mazumdar.

Impressive performances by Shefali and Deepti Varma
Shefali Verma performed brilliantly with both bat and ball for India in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 final. Shefali, who replaced the injured Pratika Rawal, scored 87 runs and took two wickets. Deepti Sharma (58) also scored a half-century and took five wickets.

Batting first in the match, the Indian women’s team scored 298 runs. In reply, South Africa were bundled out for 246 runs. Thus, the Indian women’s team won the ODI World Cup title for the first time.
