A bomb blast near a military base in Pakistan


A major attack took place on Monday at the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar, Pakistan. According to a Dawn News report, senior police officials confirmed the attack and said security forces are retaliating and the entire area has been sealed off. Capital Police Officer Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed said, “The FC headquarters has been attacked.

Security personnel are retaliating, and the area has been cordoned off.” Security sources said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who blew himself up at the gate of the headquarters. Gunshots were heard immediately after the explosion.

According to reports, two terrorists have been killed so far, and the search for the rest is on. Security forces are searching the entire complex. The attack comes amid a surge in attacks in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

In November 2022, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke a ceasefire with the government and threatened to attack security forces, police and law enforcement agencies. Since then, there has been a rapid increase in such incidents in the country.
