Indian ODI team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has been admitted to a Sydney hospital after sustaining an injury during the Sydney ODI. Due to his critical condition, he was kept in the ICU for a short time. However, his condition has improved over the past few days, resulting in his discharge from the ICU. Iyer has now given his first reaction since his injury. In a social media post, Shreyas thanked all his fans.
Shreyas Iyer’s first reaction
Iyer suffered a spleen injury during the third ODI in Sydney on 25 October. For five days, the BCCI continuously updated the Indian fans about the injury, but Iyer remained silent. Now, after being released from the ICU, the star Indian player posted on social media and told fans, “I am currently in the recovery process and improving with each passing day. I am very grateful for all the wishes and support I have received.” It really means a lot. Thanks for keeping me in your memories.
Iyer will take a break of two months
Team India’s star batsman Shreyas Iyer is struggling with injuries. This injury may keep him out of cricket for about two months. He may return for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand in January. Over the past three years, Iyer has proven himself with consistent runs in the one-day format, which led to him being appointed vice-captain just before the tour of Australia. After coming back from his injury, Iyer will also try his best to make a comeback in the T20 format. He has proved himself in all three formats for the Indian team.
