CBSE CTET 2026 Date: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is a mandatory qualification for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, and other Central Government affiliated schools in India. This exam is conducted at national level. Its main objective is to ensure that teaching standards are met and only qualified candidates become teachers. CBSE usually conducts CTET exam twice in a year. CBSE CTET Exam will be held on February 8, 2026.

CBSE CTET exam will be held in February

Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the examination dates for CTET February 2026 session. CTET 2026 (21st Edition) will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The exam, which was originally scheduled for the December 2025 session, will now be held in February 2026. CTET exam consists of two papers. Candidates can apply for either or both papers based on their eligibility. The exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper).

CTET Exam Pattern 2026

Both the CTET papers consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Each paper consists of 150 questions, each carrying 1 mark. So, the CTET paper carries a total of 150 marks. The time allotted for each CTET paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking in CTET exam. Both CTET Paper-1 and Paper-2 are conducted on the same day in two different shifts. This means that both the CTET papers will be held on February 8, 2026.
