Sensex tanks: Share market closed for the fifth day in a row

Amid weak trends in the global markets, the decline in the domestic share market continued for the fifth consecutive day today. The indices of BSE and NSE fell by around 1.5 percent. The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange index fell 1,176.46 points (1.49 percent) to close at 78,041.59. During the same business, the share market fell by 1,343.46 points to the level of 77,874.59. Similarly, NSE’s index Nifty fell 364.20 points (1.52 percent) to close at 23,587.50. Among the leading Sensex companies, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro, SBI, TCL, Ultratech Cement and Reliance Industries registered declines. On the other hand, the shares of JSW Steel, Nestlé and Titan remained in profit. -News-Patiala
