Father commits suicide after son’s repeated NEET failures

News Patiala:-  heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where a father committed suicide after his son’s repeated failures in the NEET exam. The 19-year-old son, S Jegadeswaran, had appeared for the exam twice but failed both times. He allegedly committed suicide on Saturday afternoon when he was alone at home. His father, Selvasekar, a photographer, later cremated him and then hanged himself at their family home in Chrompet area of Chennai on Sunday.

Jagadeswaran’s parents said that their son was frustrated at not being able to clear the exam twice. They added that he had been studying hard for the exam but was unable to cope with the pressure. Selvasekar, on the other hand, was unable to bear the pain of his son’s death and took his own life.

This incident highlights the stress and pressure that students face while preparing for competitive exams like NEET. It is important for parents and teachers to be aware of the mental health of students and provide them with support during this difficult time.
