News Patiala: 12th July 2022
The US space agency NASA says the second supermoon of 2022 will run for three days this week. During Supermoon, the moon will be visible for about three days (Tuesday morning to Friday morning), NASA said in a statement. The Moon will reach its nearest point to Earth (357,264 kilometers) on Wednesday, July 13 at 5:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) ie 09:00 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
A supermoon is also known as Book Moon, which means that a full moon will come when the moon is at the nearest point to the earth. Buck Moon got its name from the horns of male deer which are currently in full development mode. Deer grow and lengthen their horns each year, producing a larger and more impressive set as the years go by. The full moon of July will be closer to the earth than any other full moon this year.
