Lakhs of rupees were extorted from the students
The police of Sahnewal police station in Ludhiana have busted the racket of getting IELTS passed. The accused used to charge 2 to 3 lakh rupees from the students in return for passing the exam. This racket was run by the owner of the IELTS center.
ADCP Suhail Qasim Mir said that the owner of the center used to provide electronic devices to the examinees in the examination center. The police have recovered 12 electronic devices from the possession of the accused. It is feared that the names of many other employees are also involved in this racket. The accused have been identified as Dilbagh Singh, Harsangat Singh, and Jaspreet Singh, residents of Moga. While the main accused Gurbhaj Singh resident of Sri Muktsar Sahib is still absconding. Police have started further action to arrest him.
